Developed as an economical solution for work on precious metals, non-precious alloys, acrylics, and plaster in the dental laboratory, the KOMET® S-CuttersTM are precision-engineered with a high number of blades to ensure durability and accuracy over a long service life. The tungsten-carbide S-CuttersTM are offered in a universal tooth pattern with offset blades. The staggered tooth configurations enhance ergonomic comfort and work position for the operator.
The specially designed blades and tooth configurations also promote operator safety when working on precious metals and non-precious alloys because the cutters generate only short, granular metal chips that cannot penetrate the skin. The KOMET S-Cutter laboratory carbides for use on precious metal have a recommended rotational speed of 25,000 rpm. When used on non-precious alloys, acrylics, and plaster, the recommended speed is 15,000 rpm.
KOMET S-Cutters are available in 20 different head configurations to meet the needs and challenges encountered in day-to-day and more demanding laboratory cases. Also available is the KOMET® Specialty S-CutterTM kit (4542.104), which includes six different, selected cutters.
